I got this in my email today.

more to do

It is finally Friday and another weekend of packing ahead. I should be able to finish this weekend if I actually try. Right now I have so much done what is left is mostly just the stuff that I will need to move myself, except for the bedroom. I am sure if i look hard enough I can find things in there that need to be in a box. Next weekend will be getting the application in with the place that I like and getting that ball rolling. Not long after that I will be back in the ‘Big D’ area.

Black cat is still trying to lick herself. She is very nimble and limber. She can stretch out her back legs and head far enough that both can reach around the e-collar and make contact for a licking frenzy. I think she is doing better on the new food but it is most likely going to take awhile for all of the old to be out of her system. Everytime that I saw her try and lick her legs I pulled at the collar, guiding her head towards me, and told her “no.” She doesn’t listen very well.

I have this can. It came out of a 24 pack (I think). There were some others that were the same but I don’t care to keep a bunch of cans so I kept the best one. It was Diet Dr. Pepper but you can see the logo for a Diet Coke can faintly through the DP logo. Anyone else heard of this? Anyone know if it is worth something? I kept it just in case, but since I am moving I am tossing out all crap. I just need to know if this would fall in the “crap” category. Click on the can for a larger image.

I have gotten calls from two other complexes today – one that the floor plan was ok but the price was too high; the other from the kid that showed me something at an older complex that I remember being built when I lived near there back in the early to mid 90′s. That one was a floor plan that was definitely from that time, and I didn’t really like it. They were cheaper too… too cheap actually. If it is too good of a deal then it is not a nice enough place and I have decided that after living in my place for the past four years (the past two have been the questionable ones) I want something that is a giant step up. I am an apartment snob. Deal with it.

UPDATE: Just got a call from a third complex. I couldn’t even remember where they were.

feeling better

I feel better now about the complex I want to move to. This morning THEY CALLED ME! Same deal as when I was in there last time, but now for the middle of July. This could work. I have a number and a date to work with now, and also confirmation of the knowledge that they are hungry to get people in there.

my two cents

Two things…

While at UNT one of the parking monkeys left me a “warning” on my car… my car that does not have plates yet – their main source of tracking people. Hah! No plates + no parking sticker = no ticket. Bite me parking monkeys!

I just saw a newer model Audi with a “Reagan-Bush ’84″ sticker on the back. Nice.

the final word

I went down to legal services up at UNT this morning to see if they had any suggestions as to what I could possibly do to get out of my lease early. I heard the one thing that I expected (and that everyone else has been saying) – you are better off sticking it out. Crap. I guess I am just going to have to suck it up, continue to pack, and live in crap-hole for one more month. Hopefully my patience with not signing too soon at the other place will pay off in not only still getting a one bedroom there but an awesome rate as well.

I wonder if you have to be ‘bull-certified’ to be a leasing agent.

apartment nazis

I am going to have to assume that the people at the apartment complex I want to move into are evil, money grubbing nazis. That is the only way to explain my past two visits there. Sign today and we will give you this – sign today but don’t move until the end of July, and pay $50+ more a month, but you will have a guaranteed spot. They are doing this to drive me crazy. I like it there but there is no way I am going to pay double rent for July. I guess I should just remember what day of the week I walked in there (Monday) in case that will affect the prices, and plan on doing the whole in-the-next-two-weeks thing when I walk in the door next time. They were also saying that they weren’t having any coming available in July. Could this be another leasing/scare tactic? I don’t expect that they are going to be on the up-an-up with me so this might be what is going on. Their job is to get people to live there, and take their money. It is going to be hard for me to wait and see how it turns out because I am so anxious to move but I am going to have to, unless I can find someone to take my old place and sign a new lease. They don’t advertise so it is up to me to do my own. Last time I tried to sell anything with flyers on campus I got one response. I feel like it is going to be a waste of time but going to do it anyway and we will see.

drugs are here

My drugs are now waiting for me at the crap-hole, Texas post office. At least I will be breathing easier now, as well as a sigh of relief. On with the move!
