opera

To start, I have spent the past hour de-spamming my site. I can’t get the new blacklist working and, I am sure that if you blog you know, if you miss a few days it gets backed up. I even deleted Jim’s comment on early voting accidentally. I don’t even see the point of spamming someone’s blog site – all it really does is piss off the blogger. What happened to email spam? Is that no longer a challenge of something? Oh well… I digress…

Stacy, Kris, mom and I went to see the Dallas Opera production of Carmen today. It was long but nice. Better than the last one I saw – was able to see better from the balcony (if you sit on the floor I would not recommend being towards the back… bad view) and the overall story was better for a long opera.

I now have a digital camera. The picture shows the silver one but name has it correct – the one I have has a black plate on the front. So far I only have cat picutres but that means I can now do some Friday cat blogging.

early voting

Those who are in Texas can vote early, if you want to. I am sure it will be easier than waiting in long lines on Nov. 2nd.

state fair 2004

MT is on it’s way to working correctly. Anywho…

Melissa and I went to the fair on Saturday. We ate too much, rode too many rides and spent too much money, but boy, was it fun! She introduced me the the belgian waffles. I introduced her to Crazy Mouse. We ran into Leanna, who was there with her daughter and husband. It was really crowded. I thought it might not have been since it was the next to last day of the fair. All the crowds did was reinforce some ideas about going to the fair –

1. Go during the week. If the weather is a bit questionable, even better… just wear something for rain, warmth, etc.

2. Get your hands on one of those rock star parking / admission passes. Walking to lot 13 after you have been walking all over the fair (and after you have been tossed around like a rag doll on some ride that you weren’t too sure about to begin with) is not as fun as walking to a car that is parked so close inside the fair grounds that someone might think that you work there.

3. Finally, take plenty of money. Having fun hindered by lack of cash would be bad. This didn’t happen, but if it did, I would have been sad.

In other news, it appears that wasps like to gather where ever it is that I live. There was the Denton incident, and as of yesterday there is now an Addison incident. Far less eventful than the one in Denton, but more funny. They were gathering around the outdoor light on the balcony – no nest, just a gathering. I raised the blinds so that I could have a better view. The cats enjoyed watching too. We all (me and the cats) found it funny when the little yellow jackets kept flying into the windows, since they could not see the glass, making a light tap. I finally got the nerve to get the poison out (this time I got the right can for the job), stick my arm out the door, aim and fire. The casualties fell to the ground. Their friends came back looking for them. We will see if they got the message.

results

The initial numbers have us winning 2 out of three games last night at bowling. These are wins that team Ready for Action really needs. After last week we were tied for last place. Hopefully we will be doing better now. The new ball is working out good. It will be better once I focus more on just throwing it straight and not letting the number of points on the board stress me out.

desperate housewives

The new show “Desperate Housewives” and it’s “Twin Peaks”-esque plotline is great. I didn’t catch it the first night it was on but happened to watch the repeat of the first episode last night after hearing about it all week, and people wondering about what is at the bottom the pool. After tonight it is going to be what is in the cedar chest that was thrown in the lake and what is that guy up to that he has a map of the neighborhood, a gun and a lot of cash all stashed in is kitchen cabinet.

Thanks to dad, Stacy and I both have new bowling balls and bags. I am told that this is very redneck. The way I see it, we are just trying to play te best that we can. Dad used to bowl (a very long time ago) but swore off the whole thing when he hurt his back because if it. We are light weights – my ball is 10 lbs. and hers is 11. My bck has been bothering my te past few days but not due to bowling. I think laying off until Wednesday will help me get better and be able to play my best on league night. They have our names on them too. We are such brats. We didn’t like to share our toys when we were little and the same goes for now… that and our fingers are different sizes so we couldn’t anyway.

parking issue solved

My sister and I have decided that for bowling…oops.. I mean league night… she will drive and I will get the food and drink. I have been having to fight for a parking spot upon getting home but now the problem is solved until I can come up with a better solution, which in this case, would probably involve moving next summer. I can only do that if it is a house. I want my next step to by buying; no more renting.

More later. Need to do some work before bed.

need advice on MT

Ummm..yea..this whole spam in the comments thing is getting out of control. I am considering upgrading to the new MT. I have not done the reading on it yet but from what I have heard you have to validate comments or people have to register or something. Comments and suggestions please.

I have also been really busy with a new job. I am being challenged and I like it.
