F****** rain

When you are at work until after 4am and having to be back at 8:30 you need coffee. I hit the Starbucks for my usual venti caramel machiato and all was well until it was time to coordinate the departure from my car to come inside the building – umbrella caught the top of my coffee as it sat on top of my car and set it spilling all over me, my purse and said car.

I reitterate – F****** rain.

doom 3

I bought my first game this weekend – Doom 3. It is odd to be playing it on my desire to do so, by myself. I think I have already shot someone that was considered friendly. Oops.

more practice

I think I have figured out why my bowling practice sucked tonight – I have a headache, concentrated on the right side. Each side of the brain operates the opposite side of the body (right operates left, left operates right). I am left handed. Headache on the right + bowling left handed = crappy night of bowling. This will teach me not to neglect my caffine intake, especially on bowling days. I was able to find ways to compensate (my ball kept going off to the left at the very end so if I moved to the right I was usually dead on) but I am used to being better (well, at least a little).

Well, not really. This weekend will be spent doing all the work that I was not able to do this week since I was tied up in meetings. Yuck.

election results

I am sitting at home watching the presidential returns. I don’t know how long I will be able to stand it, especially if the media does what they did last year – reporting one thing, and then changing it, only to change it again. I have found some sites that are reporting real time results for Ohio and Florida. This is going to be a long night.

I know it isn’t Friday but I thought I would post a picture of the new kitty – White Cat (yes, that’s her name… don’t wear it out).

She used to be outside all the time, and still has the healing wounds to prove it (on top of the already healed ones… one of her ears is tough… scar tissue I guess). She has adjusted well to indoor life and is still adjusting to the others.

tomorrow is the big day

Where were you during the last election? For some reason I remember where I was – hanging out with a guy that I had met at one of the DotComGuy functions. I believe he was a friend of DCG. I don’t remember his name. I do remember that he had a seriously receeding hairline (most of the time, no big deal) which, in my opinion, was made to look worse by his choice to have facial hair. I am not a big fan of the facial pubes but in this case is was just an overall bad look. I remember him saying that shaving that off was not an option. Not sure why. I don’t remember getting a reason from him. I do remember him saying that I would like it, and get used to it. I didn’t like it, I didn’t get used to it, just like I didn’t like or ever get used to his very large, smelly dogs (I like dogs… just not when they are so big, and smelly that they drive my allergies into a frenzy).

Anyways, I remember being with him and a couple of his friends on election night. I remember all of the hoopla over Florida and the returns that were coming in from there. I hope it is not the same this time but it probably will be. I have read one thing today that I agree with – if you say you are voting for Kerry because you hate Bush then you shouldn’t vote. That is not a reason to vote for someone. You vote for someone that you believe in – not because you just don’t like the other guy. The democratic candidate this time around is not the best for the job, in my opinion. If the democrats had selected someone else (like Lieberman) they might have had a better chance. I would think that there are plenty of people that are voting for Bush that feel the same way. I just hope that tomorrow people vote for the right reasons. I think there would be more support for electoral reform if that were the case. I don’t see the population evolving to that point any time soon so the electoral college will still be around to guard against a “popular passion”.

People are sheep… follow the leader… right off the cliff.

halloween win

I forgot to mention – the Dorothy costume won me Mavericks tickets at work. Woohoo! I would have liked it better if they were Stars tickets but that whole situation has yet to be resolved.
