at least I got something out of jr. high

You Passed 8th Grade Math

Congratulations, you got 10/10 correct!
Could You Pass 8th Grade Math?

Wow! Evidently, I learned something back then. Only one try and I even got the ones I had to kinda guess on (I knew that some of the choices were wrong and narrowed it down). I wonder if most of the 8th graders out there today could pass this. I hope so, but with all the talk in Texas about students not passing those silly much needed stadardized standardized (guess they should have placed more emphasis on the spell check) tests, I am not holding my breath.

one more week

My trip to Missouri is approaching and I am slowly getting all the necessary things done that need to be done before hand. Boarding one cat, and if Punky the Wonder Yorkie is too much of a heathen then she may wind up staying at home with only twice daily visits from Stacy. Stacy said that she would probably take her home with her, but I hope she is ok there – I have been witness to how protective Portia the german shepherd can be of Stacy when Punky is around, and things could get ugly.

Melissa said that I could take her car while she is working and go to different places out there. Anything decent is about an hour and a half drive, so I guess I will be leaving early when doing this. I think this will be a fun trip, despite the fact that I have to fly with the air nazis, and have two layovers each way. I guess this weekend will be spent cleaning house, looking for luggage, and test packing to check the weight of things (I don’t really want to check anything). I am also supposed to go to the state fair on Saturday with Stacy and Kris. I say as their third wheel. They say that’s not true. They lie.

woes at the DPS

Damn Texas DPS and their little nit-picky rules about doing an online address change on a drivers license. I have some how managed to lose my most current license, and according to the woman at the Carrollton DPS office, if I walk in the door there to get a new one I will be taking a new photo, and consequently will nullify the fabulous one that I currently have on there. I don’t want a new photo. I want the one that is on there – this requires no effort on my part, just a little money out of pocket. I tried to do it online but that pesky number along side the photo is not the same as the one on the previous license, which I still have.

So to make this happen the way I would like for it to I have to either snail-mail a piece of paper requesting the address change, wait for that to be processed and get the new license, or tear apart the places I think I might have misplaced the old one. My bet is on the trunk of my car. Hopefully, when I looked there before it was just not hard enough.

I had a date last night – date#4 (I think this is where I left off). To say the least, I was once again going through the motions and it was completely boring. There was conversation, but it seemed that this was only there to occupy the time being spent with someone who monopolized said conversation, cutting me off every time I attempted to say anything. After a few attempts I gave up and allowed him to ramble on while I smiled and thought about all the other things I would have rather been doing – working out, reading, bathing in battery acid, etc.

My sister says I should give it a second date. I don’t really see the point in that. I have been on plenty of dates in the past, and even though I am older now, I don’t think I have forgotten what it feels like to meet someone you really connect with. Someone that you feel comfortable enough with to disclose the fact that you blog, have cats, and at the same time feel that none of this is going to send them running the other direction, leaving a trail of skid marks on the pavement. I know what I like, ad this wasn’t it. Actually, I knew there was a possibility that this would not be it when an email response I sent him did not follow the guidelines of the answer he was expecting (I attempted to go outside the box… in my opinion, it was a feeble one, and I thought he might be welcoming of an answer out of the norm… I was wrong) and he let me know it. It was after this that I told him I was not one for long emails and hanging on the phone for hours at a time, and that if he was interested in getting together to speak up.

Long story short – it was boring, and after it was over, I came home, changed clothes and went to Kris and Stacy’s to watch a movie that wasn’t that good, but better than the date was.
