bye, bye curly mop

Although I don’t have any pictures that I think are worth posting on this issue, my hair is now permanently straight, and has been for a couple of weeks. I am very much enjoying the new ‘do since all I have to do to have straight hair is just blow it dry. I feel like I am having to learn how to do my hair all over again… oh wait… I never did much with it in the first place… I am learning to do my hair for the first time. What I mean by this is how to blow it dry. Even though it is straight, if I don’t get a spot good with the brush and the hair dryer, it may have a slight wave to it. I never thought there would be a learning curve with this whole process.

This also means no more chip clips – the once staple of my every-day, curly mop left me with breakage that I didn’t know was there. I am a little sad that I won’t be using them any more, but then I see how cool my new straight hair looks and think “who cares?” I can use a stick to put it up and out of the way if I feel like it, but the clips, and the round brush, I was told must go.

Here is the site of the woman that did my hair. Her name is Marie and I could not be happier with the results. The process is not an inexpensive one, but it is SO WORTH IT! I now have the hair that I used to only achieve through use of a flat iron and/or round brush and hair dryer. I still can’t believe that at one point I was doing that EVERY DAY! If you are in the Dallas area, and have an unruly mane, this woman will get you fixed up. FYI – you can’t get your hair wet for THREE DAYS after the process. Small price to pay though for straight hair.
